Annual
Mathematics & Science Education Conference
AMSEC 2007
The conference was held last year on Saturday December 08, 2007 from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
The purpose of the Conference was to enhance teacher effectiveness in the teaching
of mathematics and science. In a workshop format, the conference addressed current
issues in mathematics, science and technology as well as topics of interest across
all levels of the educational spectrum. Teachers were involved in hands-on / minds-on
activities and developed meaningful connections between science and mathematics concepts.
Two hundred and fifteen (215) k-12 teachers attended the conference from Baltimore City,
County, public and private schools, as well as Morgan State University's education majors.
Teachers not only received valuable information from the workshops but were given free educational
resources that included software, audio visuals, and books. In the conference evaluation the teachers
commented that they found the workshops helpful and informative.
